Lesson Planning

This is what a typical Sunday night looks for me every week: all spread out on the floor planning my lessons for the next week (my lesson plans are due Monday morning). I love it, though!

Breakfast with my sister

Jessica is staying with me for a couple of days. Saturday morning we made a HUGE breakfast and just enjoyed hanging out for a couple of hours. We made way too much food.

High School Girl's Bible Study

This past year, I really felt like the Lord was laying it on my heart to do a Bible Study with the HS girls here at Binimea. I was bummed when I found out that there was another woman already signed up to do it. However, I continued to pray about it, and, a few weeks into the school year, I got a note from a woman (Olivia Wolf, for those of you who know her) saying that she felt like the Lord wanted us to work as a team in teaching this Bible Study. Her passion is prayer, and so she was so excited when the Lord showed her this book that we are going to be studying with the girls. The neat thing is that over this past year, the Lord had REALLY been convicting me of my lack of prayer. So before I even knew of this opportunity, I started working on it myself. I can see now that God was preparing me to help teach this Bible Study!

Ants!

My house has been invaded by ants.
They have been entering through a light switch fixture
and discovering any and every crumb that I leave out.
It has been good incentive to wash my dishes before bed.
However, for some reason my water sometimes shuts off
exactly around the time that I am either going to wash my
dishes or take a shower. So, I just finished placing my dirty
dishes as far away from the fixture as possible, in hopes
that the ants will not discover them.

A Few More House Pictures

Here's my cute little office, where I teach private piano and voice lessons after school.

This is my little guest room. Please come and occupy it. It's lonely.

More pictures of my front room.

Before and After

My Bedroom

It's amazing what a little paint, a dollar store, the Goodwill, and your parent's furniture will do to a house!! Here's my little nest. I love it!

The Green paint doesn't usually look that yellow. Much prettier in real life.

Here's a picture of the front room before I got rid of all the lovely pink.

And... After! The door on the left leads to the office, and the one on the right goes into the guest bedroom. The kitchn is behind the yellow wall. On the right side of the house, which you can't see because of the camara angle, is the bathroom, and then closer to where I'm standing taking the picture is my bedroom door, leading to my room on the right.

The kitchen was kindof gross (at least, the cubbords were. They were COVERED in a greasy film).

I hope the landlords don't mind that I painted the cubbords.

And the bathroom, before....

And after!! I love the red, but was a little scared about it at first. See all the red splotches on the floor.... yeah, that will be my project some weekend here soon....

My 5th and 6th Graders

Here is my wonderful (small) class of 5th and 6th Graders. From the left: Austin, Melissa and Aime. I have them every afternoon and teach them Bible, Science and then History.
Here's a picture of a little class party that we had at the beginning of the school year. As you can see, we're playing "Mexican Train" (How appropriate). The other kid in the left-hand corner is one of the MKs who lives out in the indian tribe. He was visiting that day.

New Co-Workers

This is Barb Russ, the Kidnergarten teacher. She had me over for dinner during Teacher's Orientation week and we made a dish called "Poor Man's Stroganoff." I have made it every week since then!

This is one of the elementary teachers at Binimea. Emily teaches 1-2 grades and lives right down the street from me. We've become pretty good friends and usually spend at least some time together on the weekends

Thank you, Ben Taylor!

Ben Taylor told me how to make my pictures smaller so that I can upload them to blogger. Yay! We're back in business.

Here I am organizing the piles of music during teacher's orientation week before school started.
