Sounding the Alarm

Me and Emily headed down to the school this afternoon to do some lesson planning for this next week. However, when we tried to get into the school, we noticed that the door was jammed. Thinking that a good pull would free the door, we both yanked on it at the same time. However, the door did not open and the jarring caused the alarm to go off.... Here we are waiting for someone to come turn off the alarm.

A Cozy Evening

Tonight has been such a cozy, fun evening. I invited both of my girlfriends from the school over for dinner and a movie, so beforehand, I tried to make my house look special and inviting. I lit candles all over the place and turned on X-mas music. I love my little house.

My friend Elizabeth heard that I didn't have any Christmas decorations, so she surprised me by bringing over an extra tree that she had and all the trimmings, so now I have a tree!!

Here 's me and the girls before dinner (I made some pretty good spaghetti).

Cake Decorating

My class was asked to decorate a cake with a Thanksgiving Theme. Here's what we came up with:

Thanksgiving

I celebrated Thanksgiving this year with my family last Saturday, and then on Thanksgiving Day with all the single teachers at the school. We each contributed to the meal; below is a pic of me and the pumpkin rolls that I made (from a great recipe that my boyfriend Matt's mom gave me).

Egyptian Party

I promised my 5-6th graders that if they all got on the honor roll, that I would throw them a party. Well, they did, and since we are studying Egypt right now, I thought I would give the party and Egyptian theme. The kids loved it and I had a pretty good time myself.

Our "Egyptian" food.

Here's Emily (my teacher friend) and I making yummy desserts for the Thanksgiving dinner that we're going to have tomorrow. It's going to be a bunch of us women teachers from the school, as well as a few of the Bible School students. We're going to have a good time. I'm making Matt's mom's pumpkin rolls.

My family (minus my brother Evan who is in Hawaii at Bible College *sniff) celebrated Thanksgiving together last Saturday. Look at all the wonderful food my mom made!)

Soccer

Here's a picture of me and the high school girl's soccer team. Being on the team has provided me both with exercise (which is VERY necessary for my mental and emotional well-being), and an opportunity to spend a lot more time with the girls. I love being a part of something with them, as well as brushing up on my soccer skills (or, um, developing them from the ground up?) :)

Breathe!

I was trying to teach my Jr. High choir the right way to breathe.

Binimea's Senior Citizens

We had a high school party where we all dressed up as senior citizens.... that's me in the gray dress, and Jessica, my sister in the afro... oh, excuse, me, that is not my sister, that's "Trevor."

Great Wall of China

My 5th and 6th grade class just finished a unit on China. Here is our "Great Wall of China."
