Painting for Drama

Last night a couple of the dorm kids and the dorm mom went over to the auditorium where we will be having our play (on Thursday, April 5th!) to finish "ragging" the walls. What you do to get this effect is just throw the rag at the wall as hard as you can in random patterns. Let me tell you, it was very good for relieving stress. I thoroughly enjoyed it...
Thank you, Caleb and Emily!!

Lovely Sue

Since you had to completly cover the rag in paint, we got a little messy. The paint was fun to peel off later though!

Biola's Missions Conference

Ameritribes sent me to Biola University's Missions Coference as a representative/recruiter last week. I spent the week manning our booth, and talking to a lot of really great college students.
At the booth with Debora and Lorianne

New friends from Operation Mobilization.

The two wonderful ladies that hosted me in their room, Sarah and Jessica. Their other roommate, Ellie, isn't in the picture, but she was great too. She gave up her bed for me!

Drama

For high school drama, we are putting on the play "The Matchmaker." Pray for us as our performance is coming up on April 5th! Here the kids are practicing for the last time with their scripts.

High School Girl's Sleepover

ALL the high school girls came over and had a huge sleepover. We watched movies, ate, and slept... a little.

Tennis Time

I got to play (or attempt to play) tennis with some of my highschoolers. Yeah, it was pretty hilarious...
"Jammin"

High School Valentines Day Party

I was invited to help with the high school Valentine's Day party. Here we are all dolled up for the event. This was the group that I was assigned to. We had a progressive dinner in the school where we went from room to room to eat our meal.

Visit From the Roommate

One of my roommates from Moody, Michelle Lynch (left), came to visit me in Chihuahua last week. We're enjoying traditional Mexican drinks in the plaza downtown.
Here we are at a cafe overlooking the city. She is very good at musical theatre stuff, so she came and did some demonstrations for my class.

Spring Party

To celebrate spring, we had a party last friday, and all the kids had to dress up as a "spring" character. Notice that Eli is a "flower"... haha. The 1st and 2nd graders asked us to parade around their class for them. Here the kids are painting eggs.
Me and aime, the cutest bunny ever.

Valentine's Day Pary

We had our Valentine's Day Party at Aime's (far left) house. Eli (blue shirt) is our new student this semesterPlaying "Honey, if you love me, won't you please smile?" I think Eli is winning...
All of us playing a custom-made game of "Valentine's Bingo."
In our classroom on Valentines Day

Making Planets

We're studying planets right now, so we're making a paper mache solar system in our classroom.

Trip to the Caves

Isabelle Dunn (the other 5th and 6th grade teacher) and I took the kids to visit the amazing caves that are on the edge of town. It was a really interesting field trip, especially when you knew what you were looking for.

I'm Sorry

I have gotten so behind on my blogging that I have been overwhelmed with everything that I should have put up here over the last couple of months. Right now I'm at Biola's missions conference, representing Ameritribes. A man that I met here told me that I should try to post on my blog at least once a week, so that is what I'm going to try to do from here on out. Also, my computer works now (my hard drive crashed!) so I can actually upload my pictures onto the internet. ]

I love you all!
